How to use

  1. Paste the original text on the left and the changed version on the right, or press Sample to try it.
  2. Differences appear instantly: removed text in red, added text in green, with the exact characters highlighted.
  3. Switch between Side by side and Unified, and choose how to handle whitespace and letter case.
  4. Keep Show only changes with context on to fold unchanged lines, then press Copy diff for a unified diff with @@ headers.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server.

How is similarity calculated?

It's the share of characters that stay the same across both versions, so 100% means identical and lower numbers mean bigger edits. Line counts for both versions are shown alongside.

Can I compare code or large files?

Yes. It uses the Myers diff algorithm with character-level highlights inside changed lines. For very different large texts, parts may fall back to line-only comparison to stay fast.
