FAQ

FAQ

How is the SM-2 spaced repetition calculated?

It uses SuperMemo's SM-2 formula. Again = 1, Hard = 3, Good = 4 and Easy = 5 points. With 3 or more, the first review comes after 1 day, the second after 6, and after that the previous interval × the ease factor (EF). EF starts at 2.5, changes with each grade (minimum 1.3), and Again resets the interval to 1 day. As in the original SM-2, the interval uses the EF from before the update, so Hard, Good and Easy can show the same date at first and drift apart later.

What happens when I press Again?

The card is scheduled for tomorrow and also comes back a few cards later in the current session. That repeat is practice only and doesn't change the schedule; pressing Good or better clears it.

Can I import a CSV or Excel word list?

Yes. Put one card per line as “front[Tab]back” or “front, back”. Wrap text that contains commas in double quotes. A header row like “front, back” is skipped, and cards with a front that already exists are skipped by default.

Where is my progress saved?

Cards and study history are stored only in this browser (localStorage) and never sent to a server. To continue on another device, download a JSON file with Backup and load it with Import. You can also export a single deck as CSV.
